Project Diagnostics & Yield Optimization
Horticulture Export & Quality
PEMBA was engaged to conduct a comprehensive Project Studies and Diagnostics phase for a major farm expansion aimed at increasing export volume and quality. Located in West Africa, the farm supplies produce that is processed into premium dried pineapple for shipment to European markets. Our team performed detailed micro-climate modeling, soil nutrient analysis, and planting density assessments to identify critical factors hindering optimal yield. This diagnostic provided the actionable data necessary to establish a scientifically verifiable foundation for resource management.
We subsequently designed and installed a rigorous Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) framework. This system allows farm managers to track key performance indicators (KPIs) in real time, focusing specifically on Brix (sugar) levels, fruit uniformity, and post-harvest loss rates. This oversight guarantees that the produce meets the exacting quality specifications required for high-end international buyers and supports the farm’s ability to maintain long-term commercial contracts in Europe.

Integrating real-time data into our operations has transformed the way we manage quality. With PEMBA’s expertise, we gained not only a robust M&E framework but also the confidence to scale our production to meet the strict requirements of international dried-pineapple markets. Their insights have been truly invaluable.
